FreeCell Strategy: How to Solve Any Deal
Almost every FreeCell deal can be won, and all 52 cards are visible from the start. That makes it a planning game: think a few moves ahead before touching a card.
Free cells are a resource — keep them open
Each empty free cell lets you move one more card at a time. Filling them early leaves you stuck; use a cell only when it achieves something concrete, like freeing an ace.
Get the aces and twos out
Low cards buried deep in a column block everything above them. Look first at where the aces and twos are and plan to dig them out.
Empty a column as early as you can
An empty column is worth more than a free cell: it can hold a whole sequence. Each empty column doubles how many cards you can move in one go, which the game works out for you as a supermove.
Build long sequences
Stack cards downward in alternating colours so that a whole run can move together later. Avoid placing a card where it covers a low card you’ll need soon.
The Daily FreeCell
Everyone gets the same deal on the Daily Challenge, ranked by fewest moves. A little planning before your first move pays off — and undo lets you back out of a dead end.
