Follow the returning ball
Watch the ball after it hits a brick or side wall. Move the paddle toward where it will cross the bottom of the court, rather than chasing the ball directly underneath every bounce.
Mouse movement and a sliding finger steer the paddle. With the court focused, use Left and Right arrows instead. Choose Launch ball or press Space when you are ready.
Use the paddle to choose a direction
A hit near the middle sends the ball mostly upward. A hit nearer an end creates a wider rebound toward that side. Use the middle when you need a controlled return; use an end when you want to reach bricks farther across the wall.
Secure the return before trying a precise angle. A missed ball costs one of your three lives, so a safe bounce is more useful than a difficult shot that misses the paddle.
Work toward the remaining bricks
Clear the wall, then choose Next level when you are ready. Score and remaining lives carry over. Each new level starts with a faster ball and a narrower paddle, so safe returns become more important. There are five layouts and no power-ups.
The bottom row is worth 10 points per brick; each row above adds another 10. As the wall thins out, watch which side still has bricks and adjust the next paddle return toward it. The ball becomes faster as bricks break, so leave yourself time to move back for its return.
Take a pause before the next return
Use Pause or press P when you need a break. Leaving the browser window pauses a moving ball too. Full screen fits the court to the display, and Escape leaves that view.
Missing the ball while lives remain lets you line up another launch. After clearing all five levels or losing all three lives, Play again resets the run. New game also starts over at level one. Your personal best is saved in this browser when storage is available; current level, lives and run score reset when you leave or reload; there is no daily mode or public leaderboard. Play Brick Breaker and practise a few controlled rebounds.
