How to play

1. Swipe, or use the arrow keys or direction buttons, to slide every tile as far as it can go in that direction.
2. When two tiles with the same number collide they merge into one tile with double the value. Each tile merges at most once per move.
3. Only a move that changes the board spawns a new tile: a 2 (90% of the time) or a 4 (10%).
4. Reach the 2048 tile to win, then keep playing for a higher score. The game ends when the board is full and no merge is possible.

How do you win 2048?

Merge tiles until a 2048 tile appears. You can keep playing afterwards to chase a bigger tile and a higher score.

Can I undo a move in 2048?

Yes. Undo steps back up to 100 moves, and your personal best score is kept even if you undo.

Is my 2048 progress saved?

Yes, in this browser: your board, score and undo history survive a reload. Nothing is sent to a server.
