How does a game of checkers end in a draw?
A checkers game is drawn when 40 moves in a row pass without a capture. Trindo counts both players’ turns, so that is 20 moves each.
Once few pieces are left, a game can go round in circles. To stop that, Trindo ends the game as a draw after 40 consecutive moves without a capture.
How the count works
- Every turn counts, whichever player makes it, so 40 moves is 20 turns each.
- Only a capture resets the count to zero. Crowning a king does not.
- The draw is declared automatically, so there is nothing to claim.
What it means for play
If you are ahead, use your extra pieces to force captures and finish before the counter runs out. If you are behind, a king that can keep moving safely is your best shot at a draw. The other way a game can end without capturing every piece is by running out of legal moves.
