Select the filled slot and choose Remove word, or use Undo. Undo can step back up to 100 changes, and hints you have already used stay counted.
A word that fits the letters so far can still be wrong, so you can always take it back.
Two ways to take a word back
- Remove word: select a filled slot and choose Remove word. Letters shared with another placed word stay in the grid.
- Undo: reverses your last change, placement or removal, up to 100 changes.
Neither one gives a hint back: each slot you revealed still counts in your result. Once all eight words are placed the puzzle is complete and editing stops, so check crossings before placing the last word.
