Crazy Eights
Match the card. Bend the suit. Empty your hand.
How to play
Each player is dealt seven cards to start, with the rest of the deck forming a draw pile and one card turned face up as the discard pile. On your turn, play a card that matches either the rank or the suit of the top discard. Eights are wild: play one at any time regardless of what’s showing, and choose whichever suit continues next. If you have no playable card, draw one from the pile instead and your turn ends. The first player to empty their hand wins.
Click or tap a matching card. When you play an eight, choose the suit to call. If no card matches, use the draw pile.
Questions
Is Crazy Eights similar to Uno?
Yes, in spirit — both are shedding games where you match the card in play and try to empty your hand first. Crazy Eights uses a standard deck with eights as the only wild card, rather than a dedicated deck with several special-action cards.
How many cards do you start with in Crazy Eights?
Seven cards each, with the rest of the deck forming a draw pile.
How long does a round of Crazy Eights take?
About five minutes — hands empty quickly once a few eights or matching suits come out.
