Gomoku
An open board. Five in a row. No place to hide.
How to play
Gomoku is played on an open grid with no captures — stones are placed and then never moved or removed. Black plays first, and players alternate placing one stone per turn on any empty intersection. The first to form an unbroken line of five or more stones in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins immediately. If the board fills up with no line of five, the game is a draw.

Questions
Is Gomoku the same as Five in a Row?
Yes — Gomoku is the classic name for the game many English speakers call Five in a Row: place a stone, and the first to connect five in a line wins.
How big is the Gomoku board?
15 by 15 intersections — a larger, open board with no captures, unlike Chess or Checkers.
Can a game of Gomoku end in a draw?
Yes — if the board fills completely with no unbroken line of five, the game is a draw.
