Where the ball lands on the paddle sets its rebound. The middle sends it mostly upward and the ends send it out sideways towards that end.
The ball does not bounce back at a fixed angle. Where it meets the paddle changes its direction.
What to expect
- Near the middle: the ball goes mostly upward, which is the most controlled return.
- Near an end: the rebound is wider, towards that side, so you can reach bricks farther across the wall.
Bricks and side walls reflect the ball the usual way, so the paddle is the only part you control.
Using it
When you need to be safe, hit the ball with the middle. When a few bricks are left on one side, move so the ball lands nearer the edge of the paddle that points there. A safe bounce is worth more than a difficult shot that misses: a miss costs one of your three lives.
