Six numbers: one or two large ones from 25, 50, 75 and 100, plus small ones from 1 to 10. The target is a three-digit number from 100 to 999.
Each day’s puzzle deals six numbers and one three-digit target.
The six numbers
- One or two large numbers, chosen from 25, 50, 75 and 100. Each large number appears at most once.
- Four or five small numbers, chosen from 1 to 10. A small number can appear twice, because two of each are in the pool.
The target
The target is between 100 and 999, and it is never one of the six numbers you start with. Puzzles whose target can be reached in two steps or fewer are thrown out, so every day needs some thought.
