Yes, here. A line of five or more of your stones wins, so six or seven in a row is a win too. Some tournament versions only accept exactly five.
Yes. In this game, an unbroken line of five or more stones wins. If your last stone joins two shorter lines into one long line of six, seven or more, you win immediately.
Why this comes up
Different rule sets treat a line longer than five (an overline) differently:
- Freestyle Gomoku (the version played here): five or more wins, for both players.
- Standard Gomoku: only exactly five wins, and a longer line does not count.
- Renju: White wins with five or more, but Black must make exactly five, and an overline is a forbidden move for Black.
If you are used to a stricter version, remember that here a stone that makes six still ends the game. It also means you do not need to avoid joining lines up.
The same rule applies to both players, and Black has no extra restrictions. See who goes first and the basic five in a row rule. The strategy guide covers why long lines are rarely the goal.
