How do double runs score in cribbage?

A double run of three, like 3-4-4-5, scores 8: two runs of three for 6 plus 2 for the pair. A double run of four, like 3-4-5-5-6, scores 10.

When one rank in a run appears twice, you have two separate runs that share the other cards, and you score both — plus the pair.

Fifteens are counted separately and added on top. In play (pegging), doubled runs don’t exist — only the most recent unbroken cards count; see pegging runs.
